Comedy of errors!!!! Rajdhani Express arrives instead of Rajdhani Special!!!!
Well, with high expectations to get a glimpse of 03114 New Delhi- Sealdah Rajdhani Express Special (running on the time of the bi-weekly 12260 New Delhi- Sealdah Duronto Express), I went to Bidhan Nagar Road station well before 12 noon and smartly bought a platform ticket.. Actually this is the first time in ER that a Rajdhani Special was running, and I wanted to be the first uploader in Youtube.. I took a seat in a bench under the scorching sun, too excited to get the video and too ignorant about what was waiting for me. It was to arrive at Sealdah at 12:25. So if on time, it would pass Bidhan Nagar Rd station around 12:15. Also a rough calculation made me happier than ever before. This Special is the fastest Rajdhani to run at this moment. (list of fastest 5 Rajdhani in India)-
New Delhi - Sealdah Rajdhani Special/03114 - 90 km/hr
New Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani Express/12952 - 89 km/hr
New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express/12302 - 87 km/hr
Sealdah Rajdhani Express/12314 - 84 km/hr
August Kranti Rajdhani Express/12954 - 81 km/hr
Btw, I never trust the announcements made at Bidhan Nagar Rd station, as they announce the passengers at platforms to be caution of Through trains when normal Express trains travel, but never do so while Rajdhani and Duronto passes!!! And the signal post was quite far away from me. So I had to rely on the timings to get the video. And Rajdhani didnt disappoint me at all (well.. not sure). Bang on time, I heard a loud honk, and a WAP- 4 heading the Rajdhani passed me with its restricted 70 km/hr speed. But after the Rajdhani had gone, I was damn confused... A Rajdhani Special with 20 coaches!!! I was damn confused!! Was this the Rajdhani Special, or was this the 12314 Sealdah Rajdhani Express running more than 2 hours behind schedule, and coincidentally ran past me on the time of the Special?? Being a curious lad right from birth, the curiousness got the better of me... Though suspense is best before it is revealed, but it was too much. Well, I took the next EMU to reach Sealdah station to check the arrival history. And to my utter shock, my assumption came perfect. 12314 Sealdah Rajdhani Express was infact running more than 2 hours behind schedule, and crossed me at the time of the 03114 Sealdah Rajdhani Special, while the Special was running 10 hours behind schedule, and it was yet to cross Mughal Sarai, which simply meant it wudnt reach Sealdah before 11 at night...
